Summer Kitchen Repairs Needed
On May 18, 2021, in one of the most bizarre and upsetting events in Pine Grove history, our historic Summer Kitchen building was struck by a car. The circumstances surrounding the event are tragic with the driver of the car, a victim of a gunshot wound, losing control of his vehicle on Summit Street – across Cesar Chavez Avenue. The car, moving at a good rate of speed, crossed Cesar Chavez, came through the fencing surrounding our grass lot, and ended up striking the building.
The summer kitchen is a 170 year old solid brick building and while the damage isn’t causing structural failure of the building, the wall is collapsed inward, and requires a good bit of rebuilding to repair the damage.
